Time Zones Explained

The world is divided into 24 time zones, each roughly 15 degrees of longitude wide. Most time zones are offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) by a whole number of hours, though some use 30 or 45-minute offsets. Daylight saving time can also affect the offset in many regions.
